The McKinney-Vento Education Program at Charlotte Learning Academy is a federally-funded grant program. This program adheres to the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistant Act, Title X, Part C of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. This legislation ensures that homeless children and youth have full and equal access to an appropriate public education and experience success. The program ensures that children and youth are identified by school personnel and through collaboration with community agencies. As well as receiving educational services for which they are eligible, homeless students and their families are provided with intensive case management, transportation, tutoring and school supplies.
